What it does
Live gold prices at 24, 21 and 18 karat with day-over-day movement. A wallet where you enter your actual jewellery or bars, with weight, karat, wage and purchase price, and see current value and profit or loss per item and in total. Historical charts across a week, month, quarter, half-year and year, with press-and-hold to read any point. A currencies tab and dollar summary, and a separate bars page.
Bilingual English and Arabic with an instant in-app toggle, full RTL, localised dates and numerals. Light and dark themes that follow the device. Share your wallet or a price card as a rendered image straight to WhatsApp. Export and import your wallet as CSV.
What I built
- The price feed is mine. A Python/Flask scraper into a GCP data lake and Firestore, not a paid API.
- Offline-first with a SQLite fallback, so the last known prices and your wallet still open with no signal.
- Shorebird over-the-air updates, so a fix reaches users in minutes instead of waiting on store review.
- Firebase Remote Config to gate features and ads per platform without a release.
- Push notifications via FCM with tokens scoped per device and platform. Anonymous auth.
- PostHog, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, plus in-app review prompting.
- A real architecture refactor: splitting one overgrown Cubit into focused cubits per feature.
